Lana Del Rey Is Releasing the New Album ‘Rock Candy Sweet’ to ‘Challenge’ Cultural Appropriation Accusations

Lana Del Rey decided to release another album in June entitled ‘Rock Candy Sweet’ after releasing ‘Chemtrails Over the Country Club’.

Lana Del Rey officially released her 7th album, ‘Chemtrails Over The Country‘ last week and the singer did not make her supporters spend months waiting for another project as on Saturday she announced that the 8th album, entitled ‘Rock Candy Sweet‘ was out June 1. 

Most interestingly, the album, as confirmed by the artist, would aim to push back against a narrative that’s been placed on her, one that’s larly because of her own doing. 

On her Instagram Story, Lana reposted a Harper’s Bazaar article titled, “Lana Del Rey Can’t Qualify Her Way Out Of Being Held Accountable,” and said, “Just want to say thank you again for the kind articles like this one and for reminding me that my career was built on cultural appropriation and glamorizing domestic abuse.” She added, “I will continue to challenge those thoughts on my next record June 1 titled Rock Candy Sweet.

Lana Del Rey Announces New Album Rock Candy Sweet

The album ‘Chemtrails Over the Country Club‘ includes the singles: ‘Let Me Love You Like a Woman‘,’Chemtrails Over the Country Club‘ and ‘White Dress‘. It marks the return of Lana Del Rey after the album ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell‘ which has received praise from critics for Del Rey’s composition style and melody. It has also brought the singer 2 Grammy nominations, including two most important categories: Album of the year and Song of the year.

Before that, after months of rescheduling, a teaser video was also sent to the fans, following the first song called ‘Let me love you like a woman‘ on the album. Talking about her new product, Lana Del Rey wishes to bring a product that possesses ‘American classical songs and standards’.
